Landmark Arts Centre Case Study

Landmark Arts Centre is a vibrant cultural venue serving the communities of Richmond and Kingston, hosting a wide range of performances, exhibitions, and seasonal events. During the Christmas period, the venue becomes a hub for festive activity, requiring an installation that would enhance its exterior presence and support its programme of events.

The Brief

The Brief

The objective was to deliver a welcoming, high-impact festive feature that complemented the building and attracted visitors throughout the season.

As a vital community charity and the largest multi-arts venue in the borough, the Landmark Arts Centre asked us to create a festive Christmas ambiance by delivering, installing, lighting, and decorating both a large outdoor Christmas tree and an indoor tree.

The tree had to create a strong visual impact externally while remaining sympathetic to the building’s character. In addition, the installation needed to support high visitor footfall during events, requiring a safe, secure setup in a public-facing space. Timing was also critical, with delivery and installation needing to align with the venue’s Christmas programme and key dates.

The Solution

The Solution

We installed a 12ft Nordway Spruce outdoor Christmas tree, adorned with red and gold baubles, 1,000 ice-white LED string lights, and topped with an illuminated star. The tree was securely set in a medium Civic Stand and framed by a medium painted wooden base box for a polished finish.

The large outdoor Christmas tree installation was delivered, positioned prominently to enhance the venue’s entrance and create a focal point for visitors. The tree was decorated with warm white LED lighting and traditional festive styling, ensuring strong visibility both day and night.

Installation was carefully planned around the venue’s schedule, allowing works to be completed efficiently without disrupting events or visitor flow. All elements were installed using appropriate stands and safety measures to ensure stability in a busy public environment.

The installation delivered a striking and welcoming festive feature that became a key part of the Landmark Arts Centre’s Christmas experience. The tree helped create a sense of occasion, drawing visitors in and enhancing the atmosphere around events and performances throughout the season.

Key Outcomes:

  • Visitor-focused design
Created a strong visual welcome and enhanced event experience
  • Seamless delivery
Installed around a live events schedule with minimal disruption
  • High-impact simplicity
A single, well-placed tree delivered maximum visibility and effect

"The Christmas tree from Pines and Needles is more than a decoration; it’s a sign that Christmas has begun. of the festive spirit at the Landmark. Visitors love to see it, ( often to comment, engage in some impromptu photography, and once even to spontaneously carol sing under its lights!).
