What we're all about
Pines and Needles was founded by brothers Sam and Josh Lyle back in 1995. It all started when the youngsters (then aged 15 and 13) came up with the brainwave
of loading an old horsebox with pine trees from their family farm and taking the long journey down to London. After a few years the kilted crew grew in size, the Internet beckoned, and the rest, as they say, is history.
To get a completely objective critique of their business efforts, Sam and Josh went to an expert who knew everything about everything - Rachel - their big sister and harshest critic. If they could get the thumbs up from her they knew they were on the right track...
“Sam is still the worst driver I know and Josh can't make a cup of tea, but Pines and Needles are an excellent family run operation who care desperately about the environment and give back via sustainable forestry, re-cycling and re-planting triple-fold. They believe in community and are giving 10% of their profits to Amathuba - a community-based charity set up to help raise South African villagers out of dire poverty.
